Warren’s Removals Packing Guide

Essential packing tips

Moving home can feel overwhelming, but careful packing helps make the process smoother, faster, and safer. At Warren’s Removals, we’ve created this step-by-step guide to help you pack efficiently, protect your belongings, and ensure moving day runs without complications.

Using Your Own Boxes

If you choose to use your own boxes, please make sure they are:

  • Double-walled
  • A similar size to ours

So they stack easily in transit

Furniture & Pictures

  • Leave chests of drawers full – we’ll move them as they are.
  • Large pictures and mirrors can stay on the walls until moving day.
  • Pack small pictures/photos into boxes.
  • Hanging clothes can stay in wardrobes – we provide wardrobe boxes as part of our service.

Kitchenware & Glassware

We’ll supply plenty of packing paper for you. Use this for:

  • Glassware
  • Crockery
  • China

Bubble wrap can be used as a second option, but paper is the most eco-friendly choice.

Lamps & Shades

  • Remove lamp shades from lamps.
  • If a shade fits in a box, pack it there.
  • Wrap lamps and other delicate items with the bubble wrap supplied.

Returning Boxes

We kindly ask for our boxes back once you’ve unpacked.

  • Boxes can be collected from your new address at a convenient date.
  • Please flatten them for easy collection.
  • We can only accept boxes supplied by us for reuse.

Label Correctly

Please avoid writing directly on our boxes. Instead:

  • Write on the tape supplied.
  • This allows us to reuse packing materials and reduce waste, supporting our eco-friendly removals practices.

Use Boxes Wherever Possible

Our golden rule: “If an item fits in a box – put it in a box.”

  • Seal all boxes securely.
  • Avoid leaving open boxes, as these are harder to move and less secure.

Keep Important Items With You

Always carry important documents, passports, keys, and medication with you throughout the move. This ensures they’re to hand whenever you need them.
