Waddle We Do Next? The Great Penguin Statue Move for St Richards Hospice!

At Warrens Removals, we’ve seen it all – from grand pianos to precious antiques. But this time we were tasked with moving 27 penguin statues across the midlands, including deliveries to Stratford-Upon-Avon, Worcester, The Cotswolds and Alcester. Not only did we get to flex our logistical muscles, but we also raised an impressive £3,700 for St. Richard’s Hospice. As part of our ongoing charity efforts, we transported the penguins at no charge, but asked for additional donations for St. Richard’s Hospice. We love supporting this fantastic charity who support adults affected by serious illness, as well as their loved ones.

The Penguin Parade Begins

Picture this: a convoy of cheerful penguin statues making their way through the Midlands. It started with an idea – a quirky and creative fundraising initiative that would not only catch attention but also bring smiles while supporting a worthy cause. With the help of local artists and community members, each statue was uniquely designed and painted to spread awareness about St. Richard’s Hospice.

Preparing for the Move

Transporting 27 quirky penguins sounds like a piece of cake, until you realise each one needs its own special care! Our team worked tirelessly to ensure each statue was securely packed (no lost flippers here!) and ready for its journey across town. From wrapping them up like fragile works of art to loading them onto our vans.

A Splash at Diglis Marina

One of the most unforgettable moments occurred when one particular penguin made its grand entrance onto a boat at Diglis Marina! This cheeky fella stole hearts as he waddled aboard amidst laughter and applause from curious onlookers. Thankfully the lucky penguin never actually made a splash, but happily made a new home aboard the boat.

Wrapping Up The Adventure

As we bid farewell (at least temporarily) to our new feathered friends heading off towards their artistic showcase, it became clear just how much impact creativity can have when paired with kindness. A huge thank you goes out again both participants in this project & everyone who donated – your generosity means so much not just helping raise funds but also spreading joy throughout every corner during this unique event! Stay tuned here at Warrens Removals as we’ll be back soon with more fun activities because let’s face it… there are always more adventures waiting around every corner – and perhaps next time they won’t be *quite* so frosty!
